Strong roots, eyes on the future
1972 – Origins
Our story begins with my grandfather, Cirillo Fosco, a Fassa Valley mountain guide. In December 1972, he decided to build a small hotel in Canazei, with 16 rooms and the dream of welcoming people who love the mountains. My grandmother, Irma, was there to support him. She gave the hotel its name and contributed passionately to every step, from construction to opening. From the very beginning, the hospitality was familiar, simple and authentic.
1997 – Expansion
After 25 years, the hotel saw its first big change. My parents, Luciano and Franca, alongside all of us, expanded the structure, adding new rooms, more welcoming common spaces and, above all, a restaurant. From that moment on, the Hotel Irma offered not only bed and breakfast, but also the possibility of choosing half board or full board: a sign of growth, without losing the hotel’s original soul.
2023 – New energy
In 2023, we brought new life to the interiors and common rooms. The hotel has retained its Alpine character, but with a younger and more contemporary style. It was the beginning of a new phase, marking the passing of the baton to the new generations, who today carry on the vision of grandfather Cirillo and grandmother Irma.
Today – The evolution continues
Today, I run the Hotel Irma with the same family spirit that made it special from day one. Some rooms are already renovated, and others will be in the next few years. The 2000 m2 garden and the new spa enrich the experience of our guests, who enjoy a simple, welcoming and always evolving 3-star hotel. Our strength remains the same: family hospitality that grows together with the people who choose us.
